October 2016 Payroll Changes
Please ensure you are aware of the following changes that will be occurring from 1st October 2016, as these could impact both the school and your employee’s:
New GMB subscription rates will apply from 1st October 2016 which will affect the contributions paid by your members of staff through the payroll.
Please find below the new rates that will be applied through the October 2016 Payroll for your members of staff:
Anyone who contributes to Unite subscription may have a change in the rate paid from 1st September 2016. Not all of the bandings have been changed however, so this will only affect certain employees. Affected employees should have been notified directly through Unite.
National Minimum Wage (NMW) & National Living Wage (NLW)
The National Minimum Wage rates are due to change in October 2016, therefore please ensure you review the current pay rates for your employee's and make any changes required, the new rates have been provided below:
*This rate is for Apprentices aged under 19 or 19 and over who are in their first year. All other apprentices are entitled to the National Minimum Wage for their age.
The National Minimum Wage rates are reviewed annually and will be updated in October, however the government has announced that from 2017, increases to both the NLW and NMW will take place in April.
